ALL CLASSES> 12 IRC or $10.00 US PS AS in prevoius years we suggest that all transmitting amatuer stations log the 2 way contacts heard between IMD stations they fail to make a two way contact with as it would be possible for them to claim the SWL award using a comination of heard worked contacts. 1998 is the 11th International Marconi Day! Info on Individual Operations

HK100GM. HK3DDD, HJ3PXA, HK3LGO (CW/SSB), HK3SGP (RTTY) will be active on all bands as HK100GM during the 11th International Marconi Day (25 April). QSL via HK3DDD (Edilberto Rojas,P.O. Box 170030, Bogota D.C. 8, Colombia).
II4GM. Next Thursday, April the 23rd, during a memorial and demonstrative event, in the presence of public and authorities, a special amateur station, II4GM, will be activated from the nearby of the Guglielmo Marconi's birthplace.

Together a number of QSOs with any amateur radio station around the world (later confirmed by a special QSL card), it will be of great interest if any amateur station placed in some of the areas of Marconi's famous experiments, i.e. Newfoundland, will be present around 16:00 GMT to try a two-way qso in any of the opened HF bands.

In order to arrange some schedule in detail (band & frequencies), those station are invited to return an E-mail confirmation to this address as soon as it is possible.

OE1M. Radio Austria International will again operate OE1M from Broadcasting Center in Vienna. Will organize a Roll Call at 0700 UTC on 7.070 and at 1400 UTC on 14.170 - inviting all IMD stations to join and announce their current working frequency/frequencies. Roll Calls will be put on RealAudio.

W1AA/IMD, the Marconi Radio Club will have several HF stations active on April 25,1998, from 0000-2359Z. W1AA/IMD will represent the Marconi Transatlantic Cape Cod, MA. station, where the first two way radio transmission took place between the United States and Europe in 1903.There will be over 40 Marconi Day Special event stations throughout the world representing early Marconi station locations. This event is sponsored by the Cornish RAC of UK, who offer a certificate for working 15 of the special event stations. W1AA/IMD QSL via W1AA or K1VV with SASE or DX via W1 Bureau.
W2RC/IMD. We are pleased to announce W2RC/IMD as Special Event Marconi Day station. Sponsered by Cornish ARC of UK. 73 Whitey K1VV April 25, 1998, 00:00-24:00Z.
