PACIFIC

DU - PHILIPPINES Jim, DU3/N3GKY, returns to the US for one year in May and will be superseded by Al, AA3LB.

T30 - WESTERN KIRIBATI Ron, ZL1AMO, should come from Fiji (3D2RW) to Tarawa in these days. If he finds a boat he wants to head on for Banaba (T33).

VK9 - LORD HOWE ISLAND Ed, K8VIR, should be QRV as VK9EHH especially on 21300 and 14260kHz until May 6. QSL via K8VIR, CBA 97.

YJ - VANUATU Afterwards Ed intends to be active from Vanuatu from May 8-15. QSL via K8VIR, CBA 97.

ZK2 - NIUE This will be the third destination of Ed, K8VIR, from May 20-30. QSL via K8VIR, CBA 97.

ZK1 - NORTH COOK Barry, ZS1FJ, shall be underway to Penrhyn Island. If he doesn't get a flight to Penrhyn he wants to go to Niue for one week. His New Zealand call is ZL1MFW.

ZL9 - AUCKLAND ISLAND Ed was on the air as K8VIR/ZL9 and ZL9DX. The cards will be printed when he returns to the US which will be in at least six months.

AFRICA

FT5Z - NEW AMSTERDAM ISLAND Finally FT5ZG received the amplifier sponsored by the Clipperton DX Club. Eric is now back on air. QSL via F5RQQ.

ASIA

9N - NEPAL Murray, VE5SM, is on a mountain trip and on the air as 9N1SM on 20m and 40m until mid May. QSL via VE8PW, via bureau or CBA. - Kazu, JA8MWU, is active from Kathmandu signing 9N1WU from April 24 and May 6. He works on 10-80m SSB (no WARC) especially during the twilight hours. QSL via homecall via bureau or to: 9N1WU, Kazunori Abe, Box 1214, Kathmandu, Nepal.

BS7H - SCARBOROUGH REEF The DXpedition ship left the harbour on April 28 and was already QRV as BS7H/mm. The landing is planned for April 29 and operation will commence on April 30 (0200 UTC).

EY - TADZHIKISTAN Karl, K4YT/DL4YT, goes to Dushanbe on a business trip and plans to hit the airwaves as EY8CQ (or as EY8/K4YT from the embassy) during his spare time between April 28 and May 11. QSL to his brother: W2TK, Bob Renz, 366 Rutherford Ave, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071, USA.

HZ - SAUDI ARABIA HZ1AB is commemorating its 50th anniversary and therefore all con- test QSOs between May 97 and April 98 will be confirmed with a special QSL via the bureau. Otherwise the QSL route is via K8PYD (include return postage).

UK - UZBEKISTAN Before his trip to Dushanbe and from May 11-18 Karl, K4YT/DL4YT, will be QRV as UK4YT from Tashkent. QSL via W2TK (see above).

YI - IRAQ Sanyi, HA7VK (ex XU7VK), will be active as YI9VK for several months starting on May 12. QSL via HA0HW. Laci (HA0HW) himself will join him as YI9HW by the mid of July.

EUROPE

OJ0 - MARKET REEF Markus, DL1IAN, Ulli, DL3YEL, Peter, DL5IO, and Stefan, DL6GV, will be active from Market Reef as OJ0/homecall on 6-80m and CW-MS on 2m from June 1-6. QSLs come automatically via bureau via DL5IO.

CONTESTS

The European CW Sprint Contest on 20/40/80m will take place on May 17. Exchange: RST+name/initials (at least 3 letters).

The WPX CW Contest will take place from May 24 0000Z until May 25 2400Z. Bands: 10-160m. Exchange: RST+QSO number.
