FW - WALLIS AND FUTUNA To remember Chuck Swain, K7LMU, and Ted Thorpe, ZL2AWJ, an activity on all bands has been announced to hit the airwaves between July 30 and Aug 3. Both never returned from their way back from Wallis/FW8ZZ onboard the Ketsch Marinero in early 1996. The DXpedition team consists of Eric, FK8GM, Kan, JA1BK, Martti, OH2BH, and his XYL, OH2BE, who will use the call FW8ZZ once again. This time they'll emphasize the WARC bands. Pilot station is Wayne Mills, N7NG (n7ng@arrl.net). QSL via OH2BN.
KH3 - JOHNSTON ISLAND Rich, W5RXP/KH3, is QRV with 100W and a yagi on 15/20m till Jul 31. During his last stay he preferred 14020 kHz from 0600 till 0900 UTC QSL via W5RXP.
ZK1/s - SOUTH COOK ISLANDS Yoshi, JJ8DEN, will be on air from Mangaia Island (OC-159) in RTTY and CW on 10-80m (incl WARC) between Jul 30 and Aug 6. He has only power between 0500 and 2400 local time. QSL via JJ8DEN.
9J - ZAMBIA Jacky, F2CW/ZL3CW, is in Sierra Leone for three months and tries to get a licence.
CY9 - ST PAUL ISLAND The activity of CY9CWI from NA-094 lasts until July 28. The team of YL Helen, VE2YAK, Fred, VE2SEI, Reg, VE2AYU, Al, VO1NO/VE1, Bill, VE1MR, Dragan, VE2ZIV, Lowell, VY2OX, and Jeff, VE2TBH, is on the air with several stations simultaneously in CW/SSB on 6-160m. QSL to VE2CWI, West Island ARC, Box 884, Dorval, Quebec, H9R 4Z6 Canada.
HC - ECUADOR Gerard, F2JD/HK3JBR, and Pedro, HK3JJH, finished their operation as 5K8T from SA-081 today. Gerard returned back to Bogota and Pedro is QRV as HK3JJH/HC from SA-056 till Jul 28.QSL via HK3JJH direct ONLY
KP2 - US VIRGIN ISLANDS EI2CA, EI7CC, EI6EW, EI4FBB, EI8CE, EI7CD and EI5FYB are QRV as WP2Z and KP2/homecall from St. Croix (NA-106) on 10-160m until July 31. QSLs via homecalls.
KP4 - PUERTO RICO Carlos, WP4U, is active from Culebra (NA-099) from July 23-27. Special QSL via bureau!
VP9 - BERMUDA Isao, JH1ROJ, has a licence as KG8XV/VP9 from July 24-31. He works in CW and SSB on 10-80m. QSL via JH1ROJ.
YV - VENEZUELA Associacion de Radioaficionados de Venezuela and Grupo DX Caracas will operate as YW7C in SSB/CW from Coche Island (SA-012) during 1999 Venezuelan Navy Day from July 29 till Aug 1. QSL via W4SO.
9V - SINGAPORE Mirek, VK3DXI/VK2DXI/SP5IXI, renewed his old licence and is active again as 9V1XE from Singapore (AS-019) since Jul 12. He works mostly in CW, sometimes also SSB and RTTY on 40/30/20/17/15/12/10m and will stay there for several years. HS - THAILAND Some local, Japanese and British OMs were QRV with 2 stations from Si Chang (AS-107) during the IOTA Contest. HS1CHB guided HS2AC and HS1CKC took care of HS0AC/2. Now they are on the air altogether as HS2AC until July 28. QSLs for both stations via the Thai bureau to HS0/G3NOM or to PO Box 1300, Bangkok, 10112, Thailand.
XU - CAMBODIA Tom, SP5AUC/3W7CW, is in Cambodia for some time. He already has the callsign XU7AAS and intends to hit the airwaves as soon as possible till Aug 15. He has a brand new TS-570D and will use his commercial log periodic antenna towards Europe. QSL via Box 11, 02-800 Warsaw 93, Poland.
XV - VIETNAM Kunio, JA8VE/3W6KS, and Hiro, JF1OCQ/3W6HM, will be on the air from Phu Quoc Island (AS-128) in CW on 14007, 18077, 21007, 24897, 28007, 50120 Mhz and in SSB on 14197, 18147, 21270, 24937, 28470,50120 MHz from Aug 1-4. Around Aug 6 they will be QRV also from Saigon. QSLs via homecalls, direct to the CBA or via JARL bureau.
3A - MONACO 3A/IK1SLP and 3A/IK1YLL will be QRV in CW/SSB/RTTY from Aug 1-5. QSLs via homecalls.
