DX ANNOUNCEMENTS

AFGHANISTAN, YA A new station appeared on air: YA4F. Despite the neverending rumours this one does not seem to be a PIRATE.

ASCENSION ISLAND, ZD8, AF-003 Jim, N6TJ, will be on the air again as ZD8Z from Oct 16-29. Besides participating in the CQ WWDX SSB Contest he will become QRV also in CW, SSB, on the WARC bands and on 160/80m. A good chance to work him should be on 28490 kHz around 1900 UTC. QSL via VE3HO, direct ONLY!

AUSTRAL ISLANDS, FO0/a, OC-050 From Oct 17-28 Silvano, FO/I2YSB, and Adriano, FO/IK2GNW, will be on Rurutu Island (OC-050). They also plan to make a trip to Maria Island. QSLs via homecalls. More details will be announced on their website: http://digilander.libero.it/i2ysb/.

CHAD, TT Pascal, TT8ZZ, is QRV in CW/SSB on 80-10m from N'Djamena until November. QSL via F5PTM.

CHATHAM ISLANDS, ZL7, OC-038 The Kermadec DX Association represented by Hiro, JF1OCQ, Reinhard, DF4TD, Steve, G4EDG, Al, K3VN, Paul, WF5T, Bill, N2WB, Dave, KW4DA, Murray, ZL1CN, Wilber, ZL2BSJ, Stan, ZL2ST, Bob, ZL3TY, and of course Ken, ZL4HU, plans to activate Chatham on 10-160m from Oct 17-28. The callsign will be announced only little in advance. QSL via bureau.

COLOMBIA, HK, SA-new Pedor, HK3JJH, is planning an activity from Titumate Isis or Napu Rock on Oct 14/15. Both islands still have no IOTA reference number. His callsign on the islands will be HK3JJH/4. QSL direct ONLY!

CROATIA, 9A, EU-110 Peter, DL4AMK will work in SSB from Ivan Island (EU-110) from Oct 12-18. QSL via bureau.

DJIBOUTI, J2 Vincent, F8UNF, is on the air as J28UN in CW/SSB on 10-160m now. He will stay there until June 2003. QSL via F8UNF.

DOMINICA, J7, NA-101 The Low Land DX-pedition Team represented by Bouke, PA0ZH, Henk, PA3GCV, Ronald, PA3EWP, Enno, PA5EA, Martin, PA4WM, and Rob, PA5ET, will be QRV from Oct 12-21. EAST MALAYSIA, 9M6 Mori, JJ2QXI, will sign 9M6AAC (9M6A during the Oceanian Contest) in CW/RTTY/SSB on 160-6m from Oct 13-15.

FRANCE, F The French special event station TM2E celebrating the introducing of the Euro (?!?!) is QRV in CW/SSB on all bands from Oct 14-27. QSL via F8BPN.

GREENLAND, OX, NA-018 Per, OX/OZ1EQC, is working mainly in CW on 80/40m from Oct 8-18.

LEONES ISLAND, LU, SA-065 LU1AEE, LU2WD, LU5WF, LU5WR, LU6WBH, LU7DW, LU8WFY and LW8EXF will be active on all bands signing L65W from Oct 11-13.

MONTSERRAT, VP2M, NA-103 Gino, WA3IOU, and Marlene, N3LGY, will show up as VP2MEB and VP2MAB on 10-160m from Oct 11-25. QSL via WA3IOU.

MORRO ISLAND, HK, SA-081 HK8HIX/p, HK8RQS/p and HK8UUC/p will be on the air from Oct 11-14. QSL via EA5KB.

PHILIPPINES, DU The Philippine Amateur Radio League plans to activate some islands in October: 

       Talicud Island (OC-235) from Oct 6-10,
       Cuyo Island    (OC-120) from Oct 11-16 and
       Lubang Island  (OC-126) from Oct 17-20.

Unfortunately there is no more information available at the moment.

SACALINU ISLAND, YO, EU-183 Pit, YO3JW, plans to visit this island from Oct 13-19. QSL via YO3JW.

SAMOS ISLAND, SV8, EU-049 Terry, SV8/M0CLH/p, is operating with QRP on 20/17/15/10m from Oct 3-17. QSL via M0CLH.

URUGUAY, CX CW60F is a special event station to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the boy scout group "Jose Gervacio Artigas" and is on the air until October 20. QSL via CX3FH, direct ONLY!
