PACIFIC

A3 - TONGA Paul, KK6H, will stay there on a business trip between February 20 and March 20. During his spare time which will be mostly between 1700 and 1900 UTC and between 0500 and 0900 UTC he will be active only in CW and RTTY as A35RK. This time Paul will not work on 160m. Additionally he wants to activate also the IOTA groups Tongatapu (OC-049), Ha'apai (OC-169) and Vava'u (OC-064). QSL not via his homecall (as usual) but via W7TSQ (direct or via W7 bureau).

KH9 - WAKE ISLAND Die Dateline DX Association announced some changes in its last DXpedition update. It states that the trip shall now happen from February 1-7. Mike, KC7V, will not take part in this DXpedition due to business reasons. The new member will be Bob, N6EK. The new QSL route is via Lloyd, K4HQI.


AFRICA

C5 - GAMBIA A group consisting of DL2RUM, DL7BO, DL7DF, DL7UFR and DL7URH will be QRV from near the capital Banjul from March 4-18. They will work with two stations simultaneously in CW on 1822, 3505, 7005, 10115, 14005, 18073, 21005, 24893 and 28005 kHz and in SSB on the usual DX frequencies. They will put emphasis on the lowbands (80m/160m), the RTTY activity during the BARTG Contest (March 16/17), satellite operation (AO-13) and 6 meters (if allowed). The call is not sure as of yet. The QSLs of this DXpedition are handled by Sigi, DL7DF.


ASIA

8Q - MALEDIVES Chris, HB9CYV, and Rolf, HB9CZR, want to be QRV on 80m-10m (perhaps also 160m) from February 14-20. They hope to get the calls 8Q7YV and 8Q7ZR.

XV - VIETNAM JA3UB, JR3MVF and JH3GRE will be QRV from there from February 9-15. They plan to be active on 160 to 6 meters and will work on the low bands with 500 watts and wire antennas. Call and QSL route not sure yet.

9N1SW was the call of some JA's on 160 meters. The activity was spotted wrongly as 9N1OW on the cluster. The 9N1SW call belongs to JH1XUP.

CY0 The earlier mentioned Sable Island DXpedition is scheduled now for June 1996. VE9AA, W9OEH, WA8JOC and others will operate as CY0AA. The estimated costs of the DXpedition are 15.000 US-$. Donations can be sent to WA8JOC starting in March.

J77A is the call of N9CYL, K0SN, WC9E and AA9PB from January 20-25. They will to work on all bands especially in CW on 80m/160m, in RTTY and via satellite (RS-12). On January 20 the group was QRV as V26FS. QSL via K0SN.

KH4 There were several rumours from different sources about this one. The correct date for the KH4/NH6D activity should be January 15-30. He has already been spotted on the US cluster network.

S79NK is the call of Jan, DJ8NK. He is working from Mahe the main island of the Seychelles with 100 watts and a 3 ele beam. QSL via DJ8NK. Kurt, HB9MX, is QRV again as S79MX (1827 kHz!!!), too.

VK0 A new date with a new team. EA8AFJ, KA6W, K0IR, N6EK, KK6EK, NP4IW, (Heard) HB9AHL, ON6TT, PA3DUU and RA3AUU want to become QRV for three weeks by the beginning of 1997. The estimated costs of this DXpedition are some 320.000 US-$.

ZK1DI Hans-Georg, DK1RV, received the logs until January 3 and already mailed all direct QSLs. Gun, ZK1DI (aka DF4DI), will stay on South Cook until the mid of March. He tries to get some wire to build an antenna for 160 meters.
