10 METERS NET TO RETURN. Beginning the first weekend of November, the "Brazil DX Net" will return to 28430 kHz from 1200-1400z. All amateur radio stations are welcome.

3B8, MAURITIUS. The LNDX reports that Jacques, F6HMJ, will be active as 3B8/F6HMJ from November 15th through December 5th. He will be active on all bands and hopes to be on 160 meters. He will also be active during CQWW CW Contest, mostly on 10 meters.

4L, GEORGIA. Look for Omari, 4L5O, to be active in next week's CQ WWDX SSB Contest as a Single Operator/Single Band (28 MHz) entry with low power (100 watts).

8R, GUYANA. Olli, OH0XX, will operate 8R1K in the CQWW SSB Contest as a Single Op/All Bands entry. QSL via Suite 599, 1313 So. Military Trail, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442, U.S.A.

9G, GHANA. Excerpts from a press release by Roger, G3SXW, announces that the Voodoo Contest group will again be active from West Africa in the CQWW CW Contest (November 27-28th) for the SEVENTH year. After successes as 5V7A, the group returns to Ghana this year and will sign 9G5AA. They will enter as a Multi/Multi category installing seven full stations and 18 antennas at a new coastal site in Central Ghana. Team members (with personal 9G callsigns that are known) are: Jeff/9H1EL, Roger/G3SXW/9G5SX, Don/G3XTT, Fred/G4BWP, Cris/G4FAM, Andy/G4PIQ, Vince/K5VT/9G5VT, Mike/ KC7V/9G5MF and Jim/KF7E. Just before the contest, November 24-26th, look for activity on various bands, including short spells on 160 and 6 meters, which is likely to be all CW. 9K, KUWAIT. Hamad, 9K2HN, will be participating in the CQWW SSB Contest as Single Op/All Bands entry. QSL is OK via the Bureau or direct to: Hamad Alnusif, P.O. Box 29174, Safat 13152 Kuwait

AH2, GUAM. Members of the Guam Contest Club will be active in the CQWW SSB Contest as AH2R. The club was the Oceanic leader as a Multi-Single category in 1996 and 1997. Last year they made an effort in the Multi- Multi category and won the second place in the Oceania area (close behind of KH7R). This year they are trying to build an Oceanic record in the Muliti-Single category. The operators will be Aki/JI3ERV/NH2C, Kaz/JG3RPL/ N1BJ, Seo/JR3RVO/WX8M, Toshi/JR7OMD/WI3O, Sam/JR8VSE and Taka/JR8PPG. They suggest to listen carefuly for them between 7075-7100 on 40 meters, and their sunrise/sunset is: 2012/0757z. QSL via JI3ERV (Direct or JA bureau, NOT KH2 bureau).

B1, CHINA. The contest callsign B1Z of The Beijing DX Club will once again be active during this upcoming CQ World Wide SSB DX Contest. They will participate in the multi-multi category. Operators include Tong/BA1AA, Cheng/BA1CO, Alan/BA1DU, Jerry/BA1FB, Guo/BA1GYS, Chen/BA1HAM, Qin/BA1KA, Ban/BA1MK, Chen/BA1MT, Zheng/BA1TU and Chen/BD1CU. QSL via JA4HCK only.

BORNEO/SPRATLY DXPEDITION UPDATE. The 1999 "Hillview Gardens" Borneo DXpedition has announced the operators and the schedule for this operation. The team is: Bob Schenck, N2OO/9M6OO - DXpedition leader; Jani Kusmulyana, YB0US/NM6US/9M6US - Hardware engineer; Mike Mraz, N6MZ; Tom Harrell, N4XP; Paul Newberry, N4PN; William Beyer, N2WB; and Jim Stahl, K8MR. All seven well seasoned operators (SSB/CW/RTTY). The schedule is as follows:

C6, BAHAMAS. The Cinco Nueve Contest Group (CNCG) will be active between November 23rd and December 2nd. The members include Lee/N7NU, Al/K7AR, Ron/WJ7R and Bob/W7RR. They will participate in the CQWW CW Contest as C6AJX (QSL via N7NU). Outside the contest they will sign homecall/C6A. QSL to home calls. C6, BAHAMAS. Ed, WA3WSJ, will operate as WA3WSJ/C6A from Abaco Island (NA-080) in the Bahamas from November 23-30th. He will take his Elecraft K2 rig and operate QRP on 80/40/20/15/10 meters. QSL via WA3WSJ with SASE, IRC etc......

C6, BAHAMAS. The C6AGS CQWW SSB operation has been cancelled due to a direct hit by Hurricane Floyd on Treasure Cay.

CE0Z, JUAN FERNANDENZ ISLAND (Update). Marco, CE6TBN, reports that the Ministry of Telecommunication has granted them the callsign CE0Z for his DXpedition to Juan Fernandez Island Janury 6-16th, in the year 2000. CT3, MADEIRA ISLANDS. Siggi, TF3CW, will be back in CT3 during this year's CQ WW SSB/CW Contests as a Single Op/All Bands High Power entry. He is going to use the callsign CT3FN. QSL via HB9CRV only. He will be active before the contest as CT3/TF3CW. QSL via LX1NO only.

EV5, BELARUS. Igor, EU1EU (President of AGB - Activity Group of Belarus), reports that he will be active as EV5M during October through the New Year. Activity will take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, every week. QSL via his home callsign EU1EU: Igor Getmann, POB 143, Minsk-5, 220005, Belarus. QSLs for EU930EU, UC2ABO and the club station EW1WC ("Argonauts") can also be sent to him.

FO0, AUSTRAL ISLAND. Marcel, ON4QM, will still be active from here as FO0DEH until October 30th.

HK, COLOMBIA (Bad News). Gerard, F2JD/HK3JBR, is heading back to Bogota after a few weeks vacation in France. During his stay all his equipement had been stolen.

IOTA NEWS......

J3, GRENADA. Don, K2KQ, reports that he will be active as J3A as a Multi/Multi entry in both CQWW SSB and CW Contest. Ann, WA1S, will be the QSL manager for both contests.

KH2, GUAM. Dave, N2NL, reports that he will be active in the CQWW SSB Contest next weekend as KH2/N2NL, operating from Danny's, KH2JU, new hilltop QTH. It will be a serious Single Op/All Bands effort, 160-10 meters. He is also planning the same thing for the CQWW CW Contest. QSL via W2YC. Dave mentions that these 2 contests will probably be his last hurrah before he transfers back to the states early next year.

LS0, ARGENTINA. "The 59(9) DXReport" reports that the "Radio Club Villa Angela" will be active from the El Suazalito Region November 27-29th as LS0G. Activity will be on 40-10 meters CW, SSB, SSTV and PSK31. A special certificate will be available for 5 IRCs from LU4GO.

OCEANIC TRIP (EAST MALAYSIA and BRUNEI). A JA group will visit Brunei to attend the SEANET Convention and East Malaysia in November. The operators are: JA3AA, JA3CF, JA3IG, JA3UB, JA3AER, JA3ART, JA3NGW, JR3WXA and JH3GAH. They will be active on 160-6 meters CW/SSB/SSTV. Their schedules are as follows:

OH0, ALAND ISLANDS. Look for OH2MAM to be active in the CQWW SSB Contest as OH0Z. QSL via OH1EH.

P4, ARUBA. Jacobo, P43P, will be participating in the CQWW SSB Contest as Single Op/All Bands (QRP?), from his QTH on the North Coast of Aruba with the callsign P40B. A new PHOTO QSL card is now available via his new QSL Manager, so update your QSL Manager records as follows. QSL P40B via Mario Ambrosi, I2MQP. These new and colorful P40B QSL cards are available for all contests, and, of course, for any previous QSOs made with P40B.

PJ2, NETHERLANDS ANTILLES. The Caribbean Contesting Consortium (CCC) will be active from Curacao during the CQWW SSB Contest as PJ2C. The team, consisting of Geoff/W0CG, Dan/K8RF, Hillar/N6HR/ES1HR, Harry/W8KKF, Ron/ WA8LOW, Noel/W9EFL, Elsie/N7WDX and Mark/N4OKX will operate PJ2C as a Multi/Single entry next weekend. Various members of the CCC team have been active from the Caribbean in another operation which included VP5FXB, CY9RF, VP5CW and PJ9T. XYLs Cindy Howard, Marge Flasher and Tanya Tuell will join the team in support roles including photograpy, scuba diving and operating co-ordination. Outside the contest period, team members will be active from October 27th through November 1st as PJ2/homecall with a special emphasis on 160, 75 and 6 meters CW and SSB as preparations for the contest allow. ADDED NOTE: Contest operations by non-residents in the Antilles are no longer receiving PJ9 prefixes. PJ contest callsigns will now reflect the regular prefix of the appropriate island and reciprocal temporary callsign as PJ(x)/home call.

PY, BRAZIL. Alex, PY1KS, states that he will be active in the CQWW SSB Contest as a Single Operator Single Band Low Power entry. He has not decided if the band will be 10 or 15 meters.

QSL INFO AND NEWS............

SPECIAL EVENT. For the 50 year anniversary of the Aviation Civil School, the club F6KRQ will be using the callsign TM0AC now until October 31st.

SV, GREECE. Look for SV1DKR to be active next weekend in the CQWW SSB Contest as a Multi/Multi entry. QSL cards are OK via bureau.

T8, BELAU REPUBLIC. Look for JA1WSX (T88WX), JH4OWG (T88??) and JA7AYE (T88??) to be active from Belau between October 28th through November 2nd. They will participate in the CQWWDX SSB Contest as T88WX as a Multi/Single category. Before and after contest they will operate on all bands with their own callsign. QSL T88WX via JA1WSX and the others via their home callsign.

TI, COSTA RICA. JA6WFM, JM6EBU (TI5EBU) and JM6UAA will be active from here between October 29th through November 2nd. They will participate in the CQWW DX SSB Contest as TI5EBU together with TI5KD as a Multi/Single category. Before and after the contest they will operate TI5/homecall. QSL TI5EBU via JM6EBU and all others via their home callsign.

UA0, ASIATIC RUSSIA. Yuri, UA0SJ, lives in the city of Bratsk, 600 kilometers on the north side of Lake Baikal. He plans to be active in the CQWW SSB Contest as a Single OP/Single Band (15 meters) entry. Please send QSL via direct to: Yuri A. Maltsev, P.O. Box 2304, Bratsk-city, 665700, Russia (Asiatic).

UP2, KAZAKHSTAN. Valery, UN7LZ, will use the special callsign UP4L in both CQWW DX Contest (SSB and CW) as a Single Op/Multi-Band entry. QSL all direct cards to: Valery Zhilyaev, P.O.Box 7, Kostanay, 458000, Rep. of Kazakhstan.

UP5, KAZAKHSTAN. Romeo, UN5PR, will be active in the CQWW SSB Contest as UP5P as a Single Operator/All-Bands entry. Yuri, UN6P, will take his turn and be active in CQWW CW Contest as UP6P as a Single Operator/All-Bands entry. QSLs for UP5P and UP6P are via UN5PR direct: Romeo Y. Loparev, P.O.Box 73, Temirtau, 472300, Rep. of Kazakhstan. Romeo tells OPDX that their QSL-bureau in Kazakhstan is not working.

VQ9, CHAGOS ISLANDS. A report received from Rick, NE8Z, states that Ron, VQ9DX, has been looking for stateside on 1828 kHz for about 4 nights a week, but with no takers. He has had a couple of fair European openings at his sunrise, but no stateside. Ron states, "Currently we're back on the hook, not dockside, so I can't get to the club for sunrise for the next couple weeks at least. But continue to be QRV at our sunset on 1.828. Usually stick around till after W6 sunrise." QSL via AA5DX.

XU, CAMBODIA. Andy, G4ZVJ, was active for just 24 hours on September 18th, after eventually being issued the callsign XU7AAV in Phnom Penh. He made 850 CW QSOs. ZS5, SOUTH AFRICA. Edwin, ZS5BBO (NODXA member) will be active next weekend in the CQWW SSB Contest. He will be operating as a single operator on 10, 15 and 20 meters using his contest callsign ZS5T. Also, he mentions that he will be part of the International DX team consisting of K1DWQ (North America), PT7BZ (South America), DL8PC (Europe), VU2PAI (Asia) and himself, ZS5T (Africa). QSL cards can be sent direct via ZS5BBO, address ok in QRZ.COM / BUCKMASTER or International Call book. Edwin also mentions that an operator named Ron (no callsign given) will be active as ZS5T in the CQWW CW Contest as a Single Op.

ZX0, FERNANDO DE NORONHA. The Araucaria DX Group in Brazil has organized a multi-national operation from Fernando de Noronha for the CQWW SSB Contest as a Multi/Multi entry. The team will have U.S., Bulgarian, and Brazilian operators at the ZX0F contest station from Fernando de Noronha Island. Operators include PY5EG, PY5CC, PP5JR, PY5GU, PY0FF, PY5ZBU, K1CC, K1LZ, K1ZM, K2DM, N5FA, LZ1JK and LZ1JY. The group will be using all ACOM 2000 amplifiers from ACOM. The antenna system is as follows:
