FEW NOTES FROM EDITOR, TEDD, KB8NW: Because I will be attending the Dayton HamVention (leaving Thursday), I cannot guarantee that there will be a bulletin next week. If it does happen, it will probably be late Monday. Please, continue to send your information (you never know!). JUST A REMINDER! THE NORTHERN OHIO DX ASSOCIATION (along with WVNO Radio) will sponsor its 4th annual Hospitality Suite at this year's Dayton Hamvention. It will be in Suite 1011 on the 10th Club Floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel (old Stouffers) on Friday and Saturday evenings. All DXers/Contesters are welcome. Munchies and refreshments will be avaialble. Come and meet the members and friends of NODXA.

3W, VIETNAM. Mal, VK6LC, will be returning back to Vietnam in a few days time and will be operating this time from his apartment in the Port of Vung Tau as 3W2LC. His new assignment in Vietnam will be for the period of 6 months up until around November 2000. Mal states, "I will not be able to process any more VK9RS Video's or QSLs cards until my return in November. For those that have mailed and have missed me, they will have to wait, and your mail order will be returned or processed between visits back to Australia."

4W, EAST TIMOR. Activity continues from this new entity. Antonio, CT1EGH, seems to be the most active one as 4W6GH. He can usually be found on 15 meters SSB between 1300-1600z, as late as 1830z. Thor, TF1MM/4W6MM, has also been active on 15 meters CW/SSB usually around the same time, maybe later. 4W6UN was active over the weekend on the 14245 DX net around 1630z.

6Y, JAMAICA (Rare Prefix). Ken/K2KW and Robert/K6XX will be active as 6Y8A as a Multi/Single entry in the CQ WPX CW Contest. Outside of the contest, look for activity between May 23-30th on 80-6 meters on CW, SSB, and PSK31. The "6Y" is a rare prefix, and possibly the first time activated. They will have HF Kilowatt stations and vertical antennas to be used on all bands. QSL 6Y8A and K2KW via WA4WTG. QSL K6XX via CBA.

9M2, WEST MALAYSIA IOTA DXPEDITION. Following his successful DXpeditions to AS-097 and AS-072 in 1998 and 1999, Keith Kerr, GM4YXI, will again be active as 9M2/GM4YXI during June. Activity will be from Pulau Babi Besar (AS-046), most likely on June 10/11th, with other possible activity on June 3/4th and 17/18th from Pulau Ketam (AS-074), or AS-097 again. His operation will be on 20/15/12/10 meters CW/SSB only, using the IOTA frequencies. He will be using a Yaesu FT-900 and vertical antennas. The number 2 most wanted entity should be history now in the top ten. Remember to QSL only to W0GJ via the bureau or direct to: Glenn Johnson, 14164 Irvine Ave NW, Bemidji, MN 56601 USA. QSL CARDS WILL BE AT THE DAYTON HAMVENTION. Carl, N4AA, from "QRZ DX" reports bring your card(s) with you and "ONLY YOUR CARDS". Members of the A52A team will be at Booth #313 (DX Publishing) from 1 to 4 PM on Friday and Saturday. The Team will also be in the foyer outside of the SWODXA DX Dinner Banquet at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Friday evening ONLY. The "TEAM" requests that you ask for your OWN cards ONLY. Please DO NOT request cards for your neighbor. There will simply not be time to handle the volume if everyone is asking for cards for more than one callsign. Donations will be welcome at both locations.

OPDX would like to mention that last week we accidently left a member of the A52A team off of the listing of operators. Don Greenbaum, N1DG (also A52DG) was also an operator.

A5, BHUTAN. Jim Smith, VK9NS/A52JS, continues to be active for the next two weeks. Now with the A52A operation QRT, Jim seems to be more active on SSB and the usual DX frequencies. He was spotted over the weekend on 15 meters on 21295 kHz. "The Daily DX" reports that Jim has made over 11,000 QSOs. Jim will head to the UK on May 26th. After his visit there, he will then head to the U.S. to visit several places within 10 days. OPDX would like to apolizes to Jim for a mistake in last week's bulletin. Your editor got carried away in typing and typed A52NS instead of A52JS. Sorry Jim.

DXCC YEARBOOKS. According to the ARRL Web page, the DXCC Desk states the DXCC Annual Yearbooks are going to be mailed May 31st.

ET, ETHIOPIA. The "DX News Letter" reports that Joe, G3MRC/5X1P, will be staying in Ethiopia for one month as of May 10th. He intends to operate from the clubstation ET3AA or from the shack of Claudio, ET3VSC. During this past week ET3AA was spotted on 21259 kHz at 1500z and ET3VSC was on 18131 kHz at 2152z.

They will be on the usual IOTA frequencies from 80-10 meters and also on 6 meters. The activity will be on CW, SSB and SSTV. The callsign has not been issued at this time. QSL to F8BXI via direct or bureau. Further information is available on the Web site: http://f8bxi.free.fr The team will also be on Royale Island.
