PACIFIC

T8 - PALAU Naoki, JE7RJZ, will be active from Palau as T88JZ from May 30 until June 1. QSL via JA7FWR, via JA bureau or direct.

KH2 - GUAM On his way back from T8 Naoki, JE7RJZ, intends to work as WH2M. QSL via JA7FWR, via JA bureau or direct.

V7 - MARSHALL ISLANDS Tim, N2PC, will be on the air as V73AT for the next 4 to 5 years. QSL via K2CL.

YB - INDONESIA Yanto, YC8VYY, is working on the Kai Islands and active only on 15m and 40m. Deddy, YB1XUR, tries to arrange skeds with EU on 21260 MHz from 1000-1230 UTC and on 7090 MHz from 1500-1900 UTC.


AFRICA

5H - TANZANIA Lee, N5HG, is now active as 5H3HG for the next 14 months. He will have a 160m antenna soon. QSL via homecall or via WY3V.

9J - ZAMBIA Richard, ex TR8DR, PT2ZDR, YS1DRF, is now signing 9J2DR. His QSL- manager W2PD recovered and will now answer the YS1DRF QSLs again.

D2 - ANGOLA Gabriele, D2EB, was often active around 21222 or 14240 kHz. The ARRL DX Bulletin #21 says the QSL goes via I3LLH.

FR - REUNION FR5HG, Olivier Dijoux, 40 route Gabriel Mace, F-97490 Sainte Clo- tilde, Reunion, via France, is a new licensee. This call belonged to F5MXQ until the end of 1996.

S9 - SAO TOME Charles, S92SS, and Lesley, S92YL, went QRT and are now in the US. Afterwards they will head for Greece.


ASIA

3W - VIETNAM Hiro, JA2EZD, is now on the air signing 3W6AR on all bands. QSLs should be sent DIRECT ONLY to: XW2A, Hiro Yonezuka, PO Box 2659, Vientiane, Laos.

BS7H - SCARBOROUGH REEF New rumours say that the unplanned early shutdown of BS7H was not caused by a typhoon but by political and/or military reasons.

HZ - SAUDI ARABIA Mike, K3UOC, is active as 7Z5OO from Riyadh until the end of July. QSL to W1AF via bureau or CBA.


EUROPE

3A - MONACO Tony, IK1QBT (CW), and Mauro, IK1CJO (RTTY), were announced signing 3A/IK1... between May 31 and June 2. CW on all bands (with WARC), RTTY on 21082, 14082 and 7037 MHz. IOTA NEWS

N6VV is seeking for German HAMs to take part in IOTA DXpeditions in the fall seasons of 1997, 1998 and 1999. The IOTA DXpeditions shall remember the German colonies founded 100 years ago: The 1997 call will be V21DR from Jaruit Island. The 1998 destinations are Papua New Guinea (P29) and Caroline Island (V6) and 1999 they plan to put Tonga (A3) on the air. Additional team members should come from the United States and Japan since these countries succeeded the German colonialists until the islands became independent. Please contact either DL7PR, A.E. The European CW Sprint Contest on 20/40/80m will take place on May 17. Exchange: RST+name/initials (at least 3 letters).

The WPX CW Contest will take place from May 24 0000Z till May 25 2400Z. Bands: 10-160m. Exchange: RST+QSO number.
