PACIFIC

A3 - TONGA Klaus, DJ4SO/A35SO, and Manfred, DJ7RJ, intend to operate with a FT-847 and a IC-775DSP, no power amplifiers and vertical antennae (HB9CV on 6m) on 6-160m from Oct 1-19. DJ7RJ will receive his call upon arrival. QSLs via bureau to their homecalls.

KH0 - MARIANA ISLANDS Yuki, KH0/JH1UUT, hit the airwaves from Rota Island (OC-086) during the All Asia Contest and from Sep 3-7.

V6 - MICRONESIA JH1BLP, JP1WDM and 7L1PBB will become active on all bands in CW/SSB signing V63LP, V63CV and V63DI from Sep 14-21. QSLs via homecalls.

AFRICA

3V - TUNISIA Z32AU/HB9DNE, YT1AD and two OMs of 3V8BB plan to operate as 3V8BB/4 or TS4QI from Qergenah Island (AF-073) from Sep 11-18. They plan to be QRV on 10-40m (12m is still not allowed in 3V8) in CW/SSB/RTTY. QSL via HB9DNE.

ET - ETHIOPIA Andy, G4ZVJ, and Steve, G3VMW, will be at the clubstation ET3AA in Addis Ababa from Sep 16-30 and Alan, G3XAQ, from Sep 19-30. They might appear also with their own calls ET3MW, ET3VJ and ET3XA. They will put their emphasis on the lowbands and WARC. AMERICA

CE - CHILE XR40TC is on the air during September (also in RTTY) celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Temuco Radio Club. QSL via bureau to CE6TC or direct to Box 1234, Temuco, Chile.

V4 - ST. KITTS AND NEVIS The vote on the independence of St Kitts (DXNL 1109) missed the necessary 2/3 majority very narrow with a total of 61,8% voting for the independence. However this result may be also a signal to do another voting in a few years...

ASIA

8Q - MALDIVES A Japanese team will operate in SSB/CW/RTTY from Lohifushi Island (AS-013) using 3 stations on 6-160m and via AO-10 from Sep 15-23. They applied for these calls: 8Q7LI (Zhen, KB3CCC, YL), 8Q7US (Yuu, JR2KDN), 8Q7CC (Yasu, JI1NJC), 8Q7HA (Hiro, JJ1AEB), 8Q7BB (Nob, JF2MBF). An emphasis will be put on 28022 and 28480 MHz. A6 - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES Daniel, F6ARU (ex VU2DRU and JY9RU), will stay in UAE for one year.

VU - INDIA After waiting one year Gerard, F6EGX, received now the call VU3AGX. He intends to commence his activity with an IC756, a 10/15/20m Quad and dipoles in the beginning of September.

YI - IRAQ The 10th Babylonian International Festival will be celebrated also by the radioclub Baghdad which will sign YI98BIF between Sep 22 and Oct 10.

EUROPE

GJ - JERSEY ISLAND Martin, PA3DSR, will go to EU-013 during the WAE SSB Contest and from Sep 11-15. QSL via PA3DSR.

CONTESTS

WAEDC Contest SSB: Sep 12, 0000 UTC till Sep 13, 2400 UTC. Bands: 10-80m. Exchange: RS+QSO number. QTCs from DX to Europe.
