PACIFIC

3D2 - FIJI DK1BT, DK7YY, DL2OAP, DL3DXX and DL8OBQ will be QRV in CW and RTTY signing 3D2DK from Nadi (OC-016) between Dec 24 and Jan 1. Check: http://wwwiti.cs.uni-magdeburg.de/~hoeding/hamradio/3d2_main.html QSL via DK7YY.

FO - AUSTRALES ISLANDS Einar, LA1EE, is QRV mostly in CW signing FO0EEN from Tubuai (OC-152) until Dec 30. QSL direct only via LA1EE.

H4 - TEMOTU ISLANDS Bernhard, DL2GAC, intends to operate as H44MS from Pigeon (OC-065) between Jan 23 and April. DK9FN will accompany him in CW until the beginning of February. QSL via bureau to DL2GAC.

T2 - TUVALU After operating as 3D2DK DK1BT, DK7YY, DL2OAP, DL3DXX and DL8OBQ will go to Funafuti (OC-015) putting their emphasis on operating on the lowbands with two stations from Jan 2-14. QSL via DK7YY.

T30/T33 - WESTERN KIRIBATI/BANABA DL1VU is on the air as T30CT from Tarawa (OC-017) until Dec 27. He will then operate as T33VU from Banaba throughout January. QSL via bureau to DL2MDZ.

VK9 - COCOS ISLAND Hide, JM1LJS, is active as VK9CL on 10-80m from Dec 26 till Jan 2.

ZK3 - TOKELAU Ron, ZL1AMO, is QRV as ZK3RW between Dec 19 and Jan 3. QSL direct via the CBA of ZL1AMO.


AFRICA

5X - UGANDA F5JDG and F6BDS are on the air as 5X1MA and 5X1LG during their spare time until Dec 25. They are working with 100 watts and dipoles on 40/20/15/10m.

9G - GHANA Michael, WK6O, helps out missionary Sidney Barnes, 9G1TB, till Jan 1999. Michael will soon become QRV as 9G5MG. AMERICA

6Y - JAMAICA Gerd, DL7VOG, is on the air in CW and RTTY on 10-80m with IC 706 and vertical from Dec 27 till Jan 8.

CE - CHILE CE3/W9FW, XT2JB and TU5EV will be QRV as XR3M between Dec 28 and Jan 5. QSL via W3HC. --- 18 operators are QRV as XR3J between Dec 26 and Jan 6. QSL via HB9AOF, Box 241, CH-1211 Geneva 4, Switzerland.

FG - GUADELOUPE F5NZO and F5SSM are QRV from NA-102 in SSB and RTTY on 10-80m and perhaps also via satellite RS12 mode K between Dec 24 and Jan 1.

FM - MARTINIQUE Mel, FM/W8MV, is active from NA-107 mostly in CW on 160-6m from Dec 21-30. QSL via W8MV.

KP2 - US VIRGIN ISLANDS During his holiday on NA-106 Jerry, WB9Z, listens especially for Europe and Asia in CW and SSB on all bands starting on Dec 23.

PY0 - FERNANDO de NORONHA Iwao, PY8IT, is QRV as PY0FT (SA-003) mostly on 12/15/17/20/40m and in SSTV from Dec 22-28. QSL via JA1ELY.

Several QSL managers from all over the world write that they can change IRCs only if they were stamped in the lower left corner by the issuing post office. But this stamp is marked "facultative". Furthermore it is also illegal to deny to redeem IRCs from past calendar years.

This is now my second year as editor of the DX Newsletter and we have got hundreds of new readers especially via e-mail and internet. The next issue will be published on Jan 4, 1999.
