ANGOLA, D2 Joao, CT1BFL, is signing D2U for the next two years. His antennas are working on 10-160m but the lowbands are very disturbed. Expect him to work in CW and SSB. QSL via CT1BFL.
ANTARCTICA, VP8/a Alan, UA1PAC, is now signing R1ANC from "Vostok Base". His preferred frequency seems to be 14025 kHz where he is often QRV around 1700 UTC. Another good chance to work him is the Antarctica Net on 21275 kHz every monday around 1700 UTC. QSL via DL5EBE.
CANARY ISLANDS, EA8, AF-004 Cesare, EA8/I5WEA, will stay there until April 10.
CURACAO, PJ2, SA-006 Larry, K6RO, and Ron, W6UL, are staying on Curacao between Feb 27 and Mar 5. Larry will sign PJ2K during the ARRL SSB Contest. Ron plans to work as PJ2/W6UL in CW/SSB mainly on the WARC and 160m bands before and after the contest. QSL via KU9C.
ETHIOPIA, ET Paul, W4PFM, obtained a licence with the callsign ET3PMW. He is not allowed to work on 6m, 40m starts at 7050 kHz but you will find him mostly on 28440/21240/14240 kHz. The exact schedule is not known.
GUINEA, 3X Francois, VE2XO, is on the air as 3XY6A from Feb 18-27. On Feb 23/24 he will sign 3XY8A from Los Islands (AF-051). After that he will move on to Senegal.
IRAN, EP Stig, LA7JO, got the call EP3UN allocated now but was operating in CW from EP3PTT during the last few days. He will leave Iran soon for a few weeks but will return in the end of March.
ITACURUCA ISLAND, PY, SA-029 Tom, PY1XP, is active on 40-10m for a "longer period of time" (whatever this means).
LIVINGSTON ISLAND, VP8/ss, AN-010 Danny, LZ0A, is on the air from this island belonging to the South Shetlands for two more weeks. He will then return to Bulgaria. QSL via LZ1KDP.
MEXICO, XE Lothar, DJ4ZB, is QRV from Puebla until Feb 28. Sorry, there is no more information available!
MIDWAY ISLAND, KH4, OC-030 Starting on March 1, 2002, there will be only restricted possibilities to visit and operate from Midway Island. The airport, accomodations and shops will be shut down by then. DL2RUM and DL7VFR had to cancel their planned activities for March for this reason. SCOTLAND, GM Leo, W3LEO, will be active as MM0LEO between Feb 25 and Mar 28 (also in the ARRL contests). QSL via W3LEO.
SENEGAL, 6W After staying in Guinea Francois, VE2XO, will stay in Dakar from Feb 27 until Mar 3. The call is not known yet.
ST KITTS AND NEVIS, V4, NA-104 Alex, V47KP, intends to take part in the ARRL SSB and CW DX Contests. QSL via K2SB.
ST PETER AND ST PAUL ROCKS, PY0S, SA-014 Joaquim, PS7JN, is planning a DXpedition from Feb 23 until Mar 10. He plans to work in SSB signing ZY0SAT on 10/15/20/40m with 10-50 watts.
TOBAGO ISLAND, 9Y, SA-009 Wolfgang, DL5MAE, will stay in Scarborough (locator FK91QG) between Feb 23 and Mar 5. He intends to operate on 2m EME and announced these frequencies: TX 144082 kHz/RX 144080 kHz (skeds), 144084 kHz (random). Skeds via e-mail to VE7BQH@shaw.ca.
