DX News Letter

translated into English by:

EDITOR'S NOTE

There will be no DX-MB/DX-NL in the week December 25-31 because the DARC office has Christmas holidays. Furthermore it is very likely that the first DX-NL in 1996 will be delayed by one week because Bob, DL7VOA, will spend his Christmas holidays in the warm Florida between December 19 until January 7.

PACIFIC

KH9: The Dateline DX Association announces that four experienced mem- bers (AL7EL, WB2DND, KC7V, K4HQI) are planning an one week trip to Wake Island from January 24-31, 1996. They will put their emphasis on working Europe and plan to put KH9 out of the Top 20 of the European most wanted lists. The equipment consists of 3 HF stations with amplifiers, 2 3-band-beams with add-ons for 40m and verticals for WARC and lowbands. Additionally they will have a 6m station, RTTY and satellite equipment. To minimize pirate activities they will announce their callsign only shortly before the begin of the DXpedition. QSL via AL7EL.

ZL8: Ron, ZL1AMO, plans to activate Kermadec Island with eight operators for two weeks in May 1996.

AMERICA

ZF: Carlo, I4ALU, will be QRV from the Cayman Islands (NA-008) between December 25 and January 3. Listen for him 13 kHz from the band edge and on 10103, 18070 and 24893 kHz.

HK0: Wolfgang, DF4UW, plans to come on the air from small Santa Catalina Island near Providencia (NA-049) from January 9-24. The call will be HK0/DF4UW. QSL via homecall.

AFRICA

5N: Patric, 5N0T, and Tola, 5N9KWO, and some other OPs want to activate Bonny Island (AF-new) on all bands and modes signing 5N4OTB from December 23-28.

INFO

5H Giovanni, I5JHW, will be QRV from Zanzibar Island (AF-032) using the call 5H1HW from January 1-9. QSL via homecall.

9H3MJ is the call of DL4ML until December 31, 1995.

C91BT is the call of Theo, PA3CBH.

HI3CVV were DL1GKG/HI3 and DL2GGA/HI3 in the CW part of the WWDX contest and they made altogether some 8000 QSOs. QSLs for DL1GKG/HI3 and DL2GGA/HI3 via homecall. Please do NOT send the QSL for HI3CVV to the callbook address of HI3CVV but via Andreas, DL2GGA.

PIRATES W6YA does not know anything about AP6YA and asks not to send QSLs to him. - The QSOs of Josephine, ZL9AI, who pretends to be a member of Greenpeace and to stay on Auckland Island to protect the whales seem to be also a pirate activity. The New Zealand licensing auth- ority states that ZL9GD, ZL9NAA and ZL9TJD were the only callsigns issued with the ZL9 prefix in the last years.

T8 This prefix which was used illegally in the Principality of Seborga (which still belongs to Italy) has now been allocated officially to Belau (KC6).

VU7 VK9NS plans a trip to the Laccadive Islands in February 1996.

ZS8/MI There will be a new radio amateur on Marion Island starting around May 1996.
