3A, MONACO. Tony/IK1QBT, Frank/IK1HLG and Mauro/IK1CJO will be signing 3A/homecall from May 11-13th. Activity will be on all bands, including the WARC bands. Operations will be mostly CW (by Tony) and RTTY with some SSB (by Frank and Mauro). QSL via their respectives home calls.

9M2, WEST MALAYSIA. Presently there are plenty of 9M2 stations active daily between 1200 and 1700z on 20 and 40 meters. 9M2JJ can be found on 40 meters CW, while 9M2IY and 9M2/G4JVG can be found on 20 meters SSB somewhere on the band.

FO, CLIPPERTON ISLAND DXPEDITION 1997. Jay, WA2FIJ, has reported he is interested in returning to Clipperton (projected date is around March of 1997). It has been 5 years since the activation of Clipperton. Jay is trying to keep costs down by looking for hams or friends of hams with boats capable of making the trip. The last trip was on an 88 ft. power vessel and was comfortable, but expensive. If a few 45/55 ft. sailboats could be found, a flotilla could be established which would result in (1) capability to carry enough gear and personnel and (2) improved safety. If you know of any hams or friends that may have access to a boat that can make the trip and would be interested in participating in such an adventure, please drop Jay a line via InterNet: pcb4u@ix.netcom.com

IOTA NEWS. Takeyasu, JR0GFM, will be active from Kamisaka-Park (about 300 meters above the sea) in Tsushima Island (IOTA AS-036), May 5-7th. He will be using some QRP transceivers to be active on 30 meters CW, 20 meters CW/SSB and on 10 meters FM. F6EXQ and some others will be active as F6KSA/P from Cordouan Island (IOTA EU-159) located in the Aquitaine Region Group, from June 28th to July 5th.

IZ, ITALY (New Italian Prefix). The IK#AAA-IK#ZZZ series, which had started in the early 1980s, has run out. Italian radio amateurs are therefore being given the new IZ#... callsigns (3-letter suffix, from AAA, AAB, AAC etc. up to ZZZ).

JD1, MINAMI TORISHIMA. JG8NQI/JD1 is active on Marcus Island and can be found on 30/20 meters CW. Check between 1000z and 1330z on 30 meters or around 0745z on 20 meters CW/SSB. QSL via JA8CJY. Also, JD1YBJ was heard this past weekend on 21177 kHz around 0550z.

JX, JAN MAYEN. Per, LA7DFA, is now operating as JX7DFA, and he will be on the island for a six month stay. He has been heard active on SSB and RTTY. Per currently has a problem hearing North America due to the mountain that blocks N.A. from his location and his yagi has a bad rotor hich is stuck pointing to Europe. There is good news. He has a replacement rotator in hand and he plans to to work North America by mid-June with a new Icom rig and an amplifier. QSL via LA7DFA, Per-Einar Dahlen, N-8099 Jan Mayen, Norway or via PO Box 105, N-6520 Rensvik, Norway

NEW DX WORLD-WIDE WEB PAGE. George, KQ4QM, reports he has setup a new DX WWEB page (He calls it the "Unofficial DXCC Web page".) George states he just did not want to design a WEB page with a bunch of links to other sites but instead he has made the DXCC list with a new twist. For each country he has made a page that includes geographical information (population, area etc.) and DXCC information (admission date, country number, etc.). The URL is http://www.webbuild.com/~geo
