3W, CON DAO ISLAND (Vietnam). The "DX News Sheet" reports Yuki, JI6KVR, will activate a new Vietnamese IOTA October 14-20th. This island is in the Con Son Group (b). The callsign was not given. QSL via JJ6LXX (JA) and EA5KB (others).

5A, LIBYA. By the time you read this, an Austrian group here will activate their 5A28 operation. Activity should last until September 7th. QSL via OE2GRP or bureau.

5H, TANZANIA. Harald, DL7VSN, informs OPDX that he will be traveling to Uroa/Zanzibar from September 7-27th. He has already received his licence from the Tanzanian Communication Commission. The callsign he will use is 5H/DL7VSN. He added that Fabio, 5H1FS/I4UFH, was the last person to receive a real Tanzanian callsign for a temporary stay. Harald plans to be active on 80-10 meters mostly in CW. If conditions are right (along with the palmtrees and other factors), he will also try to be active on 160 meters. QSLs are OK via the bureau. After his travel, Harald will publish the log on his WEB homepage: http://home.t-online.de/home/0309314613-0001/dl7vsn.htm

5X, UGANDA (160 meters!). Paul, 5X4F, states, "Yes I'm still set up for 160. The band is very noisy yet. I will start listening 30 minutes before sunrise after September 9. Sunrise is approx. 0350z on the 9th and 0346z on the 30th. I also get on some times between 2300-2400z, if I'm not too tired. My usual frequency is 1.824."

A4, OMAN. The "DX News Sheet" reports that Chris, SP5EXA (ex A71CW), will be going to Oman on September 11th where he will be active for the next five years. He is currently waiting for a licence.

A4, OMAN (ROARS 25th ANNIVERSARY). The Royal Omani Amateur Radio Society (ROARS) will celebrate its 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) from October 1st to December 31st. All A4 stations should use their callsigns followed by /SJ to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Society. The Society will be operating a Special Event Station at their site on Athaiba Beach under the callsign A43XXV during the period from December 17-21st. To commemorate their Silver Jubilee, the Society has introduced the "ROARS Silver Jubilee Award" for the Radio Amateurs worldwide. ADDED NOTE: Details on this award will be sent to all OPDX InterNet Subscribers (Thanks to 4X6UO).

A6, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. "The Daily DX" reports that David, K3LP, will be operating from November 22nd to December 2nd as A61AJ. Activity will be on all bands CW and SSB. David will also be an entry in the CQ World Wide CW DX Contest as a single operator on all bands with two rigs. QSL for this operation only to K3LP (ex AA6DC.)

AP, PAKISTAN (Update). Hiro, JA1EZM, continued to be active as AP2AP despite the message put out by the PARS stating he was not properly licensed (refer to OPDX.318). However, Jun, JA7SSB, states he has talked to Hiro and he insists that his license is good. Hiro will expand his operations during September.

CU, AZORES. Maike, DL4XS, and Dieter, DL3KDV, will be active from here again as CU2/DL4XS and CU2/DL3KBV, from September 1-15th. Look for them on 20 and 160 meters. QSL to CBA (via bureau).

FS, SAINT MARTIN. Eddie, EA3NY, will be active as FS5PL during the CQWW RTTY Contest (September 27-28th). He will try to use more than 150w during this contest, but he has a problem with power lines. Eddie will use 3 diferents modems, 3 diferents DSP filters, 3 diferent computers, and he will be able to receive on 3 diferents stations on different frequencies at the same time. He suggests to PLEASE BE PATIENT, he knows that most people need FS in RTTY and he will do his best.

HV, VATICAN. With the efforts of IK0FVC and I0JBL, look for HV4NAC to be active during the 1997 CQWW RTTY Contest (Sept. 27-28). Other operators will include W6OTC, K6AW and W6OSP. Before the contest, look for activity on CW and SSB as time permits.

J2, MOUCHA ISLAND (Djbouti). Dominique, J28YC, and some others will be active as J28YC/P from his Djiboutian island located in the Gulf of Aden Group (IOTA AF053). This will be a short operation from September 3rd (on the afternoon) to September 5th. They will be active on all bands (except WARC bands) on SSB.

KH3, JOHNSTON ISLAND. Just a reminder that Al, KK5ZX, should be active from here by the time you read this. He will be on the island until October 1st. Activity will be from the club station on 160-10 meters, mainly CW, but there will be some activity on SSB. QSL via K3SX, 5008 Red Hill Road, Keedysville, MD 21756 USA.

KP5, DESECHEO ISLAND. Several DX bulletins report that Vance's, W5IJU, request for landing permission on KP5 has been denied due to "unsafe and dangerous conditions on the island".
