ANTARCTICA

VP8A - ANTARCTICA Since Nov 18 a Russian Antarctic expedition is underway from Mirny Base to the other Russian bases Pionerskaya, Vostok 1, Komsomolskaya and Vostok (same route on their way back). The radio operator is Evgeniy, R1ANB, who is QRV in SSB on 14160 kHz from 1500-1630 UTC: as R1ANB/A from Pionerskaya (starting around Dec 1) and Vostok 1; as R1ANK from Komsomolskaya and as R1ANC from Vostok. QSLs direct ONLY to RU1ZC (ex UW1ZC), CBA.

PACIFIC

3D2 - FIJI Once again Birgit, DL7IO, and Holger, DL7AU, are active from Fiji signing 3D2IO and 3D2AO until Dec 9. QSLs via DL7VRO. --- Hirotada, JA0SC, is active as 3D2HY in SSB/RTTY on 10-80m from Dec 3-5. QSL via JA0SC, direct to Hirotada Yoshiike, 1378-1 Mashima Mashima-machi, Nagano-city 381-11, Japan or via bureau.

AFRICA

FT/W - CROZET ISLAND Gilles, FT5WH, leaves Crozet Island on Dec 7. His QSL manager F5NOD has the logs until Oct 14 and answered all incoming QSLs till Nov 5.

AMERICA

FS - ST MARTIN W2QM and some members of the North Jersey DX Association shall be QRV on 160-6m from Dec 1-8.

HC - ECUADOR Rick, NE8Z, is active as HC1MD from Tumbaco and as HC1MD/HC7 from the Amazonas area between Nov 30 and Dec 14. Operation is mostly in CW on 12/17/30m. QSL via K8LJG, via bureau or direct.

P4 - ARUBA Martin, VE3MR, signs P49MR from SA-036 between Dec and Apr 2000. QSL via VE3MR or to P49MR, Martin Rosenthal, Box 4069, Noord, Aruba.

PY0F - FERNANDO de NORONHA Hartmut Mueller, DL2HZM, last active as PY0FZM from Fernando de Noronha sadly passed away on Nov 21. He was only 53 years young. The approx 4000 QSOs will be answered by DL3XM, via the DARC bureau. All other activities by Hardy like HB0/DL2HZM & 3B8/DL2HZM will now be handled by DL9WVM, via DARC bureau ONLY (his CBA is wrong!). Please DO NOT send ANY direct mail to DL2HZM!!!

ASIA

HS - THAILAND Allocated transmitting frequencies for 40m are: 7000-7100 kHz; 80m: 3524-3526 kHz, 3534-3536 kHz; 160m: 1824-1826 kHz. HS0AC is also QRV after the WWDX CW Contest. QSL via HS0/G3NOM (see DXNL 1157).

VU - INDIA Bernhard, DL2GAC, is QRV again from India signing VU2BMS between Dec 12 and Jan 17. From Jan 19-21 he will return to Germany to leave for the Pacific again on Jan 22. Arrival in Honiara (H4) is planned for Jan 24 and his next flight to Temotu for Jan 29. He is still looking for a good CW operator since Sigi, DK9FN, may have not the possibility to leave his QRL. QSLs via bureau to DL2GAC.

XV - VIETNAM, XU - CAMBODIA Jaak, ES1AKM, and ES1AX will be on the air as 3W6KM from Saigon from Dec 5 till Jan 4. Operation will be on all bands and modes including SSTV and PSK31. Afterwards they will go to Cambodia for about two weeks and their call may be XU7AKM. QSLs to ES1AX via bureau or direct. Their e-mail: es1akm@erau.ee.

XU - CAMBODIA Andy, G4ZVJ, extended his stay and is now active in CW on 10-40m signing XU7AAV until Dec 4. QSL via G4ZVJ. --- Yoh, 7L1MFS, and Koji, JS6BLS, will hit the airwaves as XU2C in CW/ SSB/RTTY on 40-6m on Dec 4/5. QSL via JS6BLS. Bureau QSLs may be requested via e-mail to: js6bls@qsl.net.
